For my school project, im doing a database in access.
I need to know how retreive todays date in VB.

I thought it was today.
e.g.

msgbox today

But it opens a blank message box.
Can someone help.

I seem to recall it being possible by calling date(today). I haven't done VBScript for a while though, so I may be confusing it with a similar language.

Ay up, i found out how to do it.

datetoday = Format(Now, "Short Date")

That's what i used, you got me on the right track. Cheers guys.

Yes, visual basic.

I use date, timmagh, but it takes the date of the field named 'date' in the table the form is run on. So i tried renaming that feild but now it doesnt like using date in VB.

I'll experiment with the variable idea.

You need to set a variable,
ie, todaysdate as date, you then set its format (mm/dd/yyyy).
Been a long while since I have done VB.
You are talking about Visual Basic right?
