If I get any old 1GB pen drive that says "USB 2.0" does that automatically mean it's compatible with a USB 1.1 port?

Usb 2.0 transfers files 48 times faster than USB 1. It'll take ages to transfer a gig of data with USB 1 so its worth getting a USB 2.0 pci card.

thanks, all i wanted to know is if it would work on 2 different computers. One with 1.1 and the other with 2.0, so that's great. Thanks.

Yes, but it will not transfer anywhere near as fast as USB 2.0.
