"HL2 Network Game - Two Comps, One DVD"

Currently I am building a new PC, and the prospect of playing a network game of HL2 or CS-Source sounds quite fine. I was just wondering whether it is possible to this with only one copy of the game? I assume that you would need to install it on both computers but I'm wondering how unlocking it on the second computer would work? If I use the same steam account on both, it should work properly shouldnt it? Any advice is appreciated.

Also are there any bots available for either game, as there will only be the two of us playing and we dont have BB. Any links would be nice.

Yeh, use the same account to unlock it on both PC's.

You only need the game disk to load the game so you can swap it between both PC's. After installation use a firewall to block steam on the 2nd PC. It will then ask you if you want to play offline when you load the game up.
