The sequel to the amazing Episode 1 Racer has been confirmed for PlayStation 2, and the screenshots look awesome!!

It will be called Star Wars Racer Revenge: Racer 2, and will feature 16 characters, 18 tracks, and thanks to the power of the PS2 the game will be much faster, so you will be racing at around 600mph. The plot revolves mostly around Sebulba and Anakin's renewed rivalry.
It is a couple of years after Episode 1, Sebulba has returned with a new, better Podracer, and Anakin is now a world class podracer pilot.

Suprisingly, the only console Episode 1 Racer was NOT released on was the PlayStation. It has only been confirmed for PS2 at the moment, and there will be more news on it at the E3.

It is to be released early 2002.

Actually, it does. The game is a lot faster than the original, and that is thanks to the power of the PS2.

And the average speed on Racer was around 400mph.

I must say, the screens are impressive, though. But, as is too little said, it's all in the gameplay.
