Anyhoo, just wondering how good it is, and anything you might know from personal experience (all the bad stuff etc, I seem to remember someone saying you have to have Freeola to upload stuff, which would be a little sucky for me) Also if you know whereabouts they have Perl it would help, so I don't have to search around for it myself (wow, somewhere where a nerdy HTML joke may actually come off :D).
Thankyee in advance. Unless you don't answer, in which case, boo.

Their prices are quite high compaired to others, claiming that you get free hosting when I really think you're paying for it with a higer purchase rate. Another thing that has always been a dislike of mine about them is there policy to advertise their prices without VAT, so you'll automatically have to pay more than you thought, as well as advertising the price you'd pay without VAT when purchasing multiple domains, so it turns out that a single domain name would cost a lot more than you'd expect (£18.79 for a single .co.uk compaired to the £9.99 suggested by their banner above).
To use the FREE web space accociated with a getdotted domain name, you need to have a Freeola account. You can't upload to your web space via a third party ISP. You can download your emails from any connection, but you're also restricted to sending email via their SMTP mail server using a Freeola connection. As long as you're fully aware of this before you buy, then there is less to complain about.
You get an unlimited amount of email accounts though, and I find their control panel pretty easy to grasp.
Over all, if they were to stop advertising their prices in a missleading mannor, I think customers would be happier, as well as them making clear just how their business model works (use out connections to use the free service). Their services has got better, the web space is reliable and fast, and if you're going to make use of their unlimited web space and large bandwidth usage, then you could do a lot worse. Just remember that you'll need to connect to their 0845 or broadband to upload any web sites.
I couldn't recommend getdotted to anybody just for a domain though. There prices are too high with to many limitations (they actually charge to if you want to move). The only attractive feature is their free hosting which I make use of, but without that I won't give them a second thought ... if I were to be completely honest.
Oh, and those HTML jokes, can't say they do anything for me :)

But I know of a nice easy deal if all you want is an online CV.
It involves the same host that hosts my site.
Plus it's great, I used 9GB of bandwidth yesterday!
It will cost about £3 a year to buy a .co.uk domain, and about £9 a year for a .com domain.
Excellent peeps
DC does seem good, but is that exclusively for hosting? Also, I have no idea what Phi111ip and Tim are on about. :D
