Righty, I have a GeForce4 Ti4600 and have just tried out the TV-Out feature for the first time.

It's showing up on my TV ok, but it's in Black and White. I'm connecting it via a SCART <--> S-Video cable (can be run either way by flicking a switch).

It also doesn't play selected video files, be them MPEG, WMV, AVI etc. It'll play some, but not others, even if they were made by the same person.

Any ideeas on how to combat these little niggles?

My games show up on the TV fine, but still in B&W.

The feature will be used purely for gaming if I can get it ficksed.

Its a matter of what your TV supports I think. On your TV menus, see if you can switch the scart input to s-video as opposed to AV. B&W can also be a symptom of your TV just not being able to support the refresh rate that gfx card is trying to run at.

Make sure you have the correct TV standard - i.e. PAL, NTSC etc. - selected in your TV-Out control panel thingy.

I could try with different type of cable, but that'd mean buying one (yeah I'm a tightarse :P ).

I'd just like to see if the issue can be resolve with my current cable before shelling out on a different one - and not knowing if that one is going to work either!

Whenever I've used S-Video, it's always been B&W. I'd just assumed S-Video was a B&W thingy, but thinking about it, it's probably not. Not sure how to help though I'm afraid. Can you connect via something different? Like the yellow phono thingy?
