Why do game creators go for crazy ideas? like animal characters? is it because the idea of being an earthworm or spider is good fun, or is it because it's different.
There have been so many titles on recent consoles mainly, not excluding Sonic from Sega, but there seems to be a never ending lineup of these things, if it isn't a sheep, your given a mokey or bear, and if your not catching a fish then you have to look after some babies!
why can't you just stick to guns and cars?

In hexen you can get turned into a pig....or turn the enemies into pigs....
I was thinking about Banjo-Tooie, Conker's BFD and Dinosaur planet, all from RARE and all including animals as their main role.

They probably do this too give the player some variation.
Not everybody likes the same sorts of games, so the developers have to try and cater for everyone. They do this by coming up with different ideas.

Lots of realistic games can get boring! Anyway Conker's a squirrel and that is one of my all time favourite games!
