People not in the gaming business (well, the development side anyway) think that all is dandy; pay is good and they get fame for making a game. Well, disregarding the thousands of developers who make average games that never really stand out, even the best has several major flaws, as these ex-employees/spouse of an ex employee has shown.

Guy used to work at Maxis, before getting the regular 60+hour day EVERY DAY, and got told off even when he did all his work and then some.

Yes, week. Too much reading can do that.

Actually a complete rephrase is better: "60+ hour weeks"

Course, it's still a great opportunity for graduates, the young and eager who want that foot in the door. So I'm still applying for the prized internship placement.

Yeah, I'd never work for EA. If I did work for them, I'd try and take my team and leave.

Well he did get back home at normal times to his family, only to be greeted by an incompetent management who always wanted him rpesent in the company. And he was also on contract, so he couldn't simply leave.

Furthermore, as it was impossible to be part of a union there was no way other than filing a lawsuit( http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/11/11/news_6112998.html ) of complaining.
