"Bob Holly and Rene Dupree were involved in a fight backstage at a Smackdown house show over the weekend. The trouble began during their match where according to witnesses, Holly stiffed Dupree with a chair shot and then followed through with several 'real' punches, causing immediate swelling to Dupree's left eye. No reason as to why Holly, who has a reputation for being careless and short tempered in the ring, went off the deep end is known. Dupree has not been well liked backstage for a long time. "
Since this story ran, it has come to my attention that the reason for Holly's actions is that Rene apparently damaged a rental car which was in Holly's name and let Holly take the rap and pay for the damage without offering to re-imburse Holly.
- Right now it is being implied by several sources in WWE that WWE management was behind the Renee Dupree attack, by Bob "Hardcore" Holly. The backstage heat on Dupree was growing by the day, and he was causing several problems amongst others backstage.
Many say that Bob Holly was not part of the roster cutbacks, because WWE management looks at him as a "problem solver", or an "enforcer" in the ring.
One former WWE wrestler in TNA has said that even Vince McMahon himself has given people the green light to go stiff on people, in order to send messages in the ring to the victims. Things like this do happen very often, and many in WWE are looking at it as not a very big deal at all.
Most believe from observations of the incident, that when Bob Holly attacked Renee Dupree, Dupree knew exactly why this was happening. Dupree did not fight back, when he could have. Holly is a tough guy, and it's probably best that Dupree did not fight back, however he did have the chance to if he wanted.

I guarantee the Shining Wizard will be next.
harsh...
seems a bit low-brow and knuckle-dragging for a company with a dress code and a serious corporate image...
still, some throwbacks to the old school will always remain i guess....

-There is a rumor going around the locker room that Bob Holly would have not attacked Rene Dupree without someone from management's blessing. "(Holly) has his job still because he does what's asked of him by management," says one WWE wrestler.

He'd probably go crazy and beat on Vince McMahon. Come to think about it, that's not a bad idea... :D

But Holly sucks up to management and always does what they ask of him. I think it would take a majorly serious event for him to ever be sacked.
