recently I bought Final Fantasy vii off an American website I know its a PS1 game but the PS2 is backwards compatable.
Anyway it comes up with an error when I try to run it asking for a format disk or something like that I cant remember exactly what it said
My question is will American PS2 games run on a european PS2 machine or are games area specific anyway thanks in your help in advance and if this is a stuipid question my apoligies(also for spelling mistakes)
The issue is that games are regionally coded, much like DVDs - but there are fewer regions. When you 'chip' the machine, it basically over-rides the regional coding.
But regardless, as US game will not function on an un-modified console.
PAL and NTSC are related to it though, jap has NTSC as well but is in a nother region if i can remmeber correctly..
