Indeed. But if you go on the link to the news article about it, it says the winning bidder was a Casino. The advertising is through the news, not ebay.

I dont think anyone would seriously pay that much for a piece of burnt toast with a bit scraped from the middle. Looks as though its been setup to get it to the right price to get the seller a bit of attention.
