Sucks so hard.

The bloody work just seems to pile up and pile up. Just finished a load around 15 minutes ago.

Why can't school just go away :(

Well, first of all, if the shortest side = x, then the otehr side can't be x-1, as that's smaller than x

So, the three sides are x, (x+1) and (x+9)

Basically, pythogoras is A² + B² = C²

C² is the hypotenuse, therefore,

x² + x² + 2x + 1 = x² + 18x + 81
2x² + 2x + 1 = x² + 18x + 81

So, by subtraction of x² + 18x + 81
from each side, we get

x² - 16x - 80 = 0

and from that, you'd be able to deduce that:

(x+4)(x-20) = 0

Therefore x= -4 or x = 20

Since a trianglecan't have negative values, x must = 20

Therefore the sides of your triangles are:

20, 21, 29

Easy.

That's good because you won't mind helping me with some maths work. Ho do I work out the lengths of a right angle triangle when all I know is that the shortest side = x, the hypotenuse = x + 9, and the other one = x +/- 1? I'm sure it involves Pythagoras but I don't know how.

I didn't studyfor my mocks or final exams and I still got A's/1's in pretty much everything.

But that's because I'm a genius.

Woo! Mocks!

I don't see why everyone is so terrified by them. I'l do terribly in the German one, but I should be fine for the rest... But it doesn't bother me too much.

Coursework has never been too much of a problem for me at GCSE, with the single exception of RS, as I've had to hand in my coursework at least three times because my idiotic teacher keeps losing it- come my lesson tomorrow morning, I won't be too surprised if I'm asked for it again. It's the exams that I dread- even though I only have mocks coming up, even the concept of spoken exams in German and French as a practice is horribly unpleasant.
