Taricco has quit West Ham after less than a week, apparantely he suffered a hamstring injury against Millwall and would be out for several weeks so he cancelled his contract.

He is quoted as saying:

I came to West Ham United to be of service to the club, and I obviously won't be able to contribute if I'm having treatment for over two months,"

And he goes on to say:

When I discovered the extent of the injury I was very unhappy about the situation so I approached Alan Pardew and offered to cancel the contract so the club would not suffer a serious financial loss by paying wages to a player who had only played for them for less than half-an-hour.

Yeh you're right. He's a lefty, but smacked it with his right, edge of the area in the centre, about 25 yards out, top corner.

Perhaps I'm thinking of someone else then. Cos the one I was thinking of was someone whose completely right footed and just found himself in space, yet belted it from roughly the centre edg of the box with his left.

Perhaps I was right but left and right should be swapped.

Or perhaps it was a Bolton or Leeds player who I'm thinking of. Having said that I'm pretty sure I'm thinking of Taricco.

while at Tottenham tauricco was the perfect example of crummy ability blocking young englishmen coming through.
