Just got my worst essay mark back since at University. More shocked as I worked the most on that one. Apparently parts were 'excellently presented and researched but utterly useless'. Damn.

So I had to hand in another today... have others to hand in on Monday and next Wednesday, whilst doing two 9 hour shifts at work.

Can only get short loan books out and I'm stuck.

I'm stupid and running out of time.

Hate that crap. Done it in the 2nd year of my degree, although no mention of it in the third year so far.

Doing 2 essays at the moment, one on health care insurance and another on the structure of interest rates. Just doing about 200 words per day so the quality doesnt fall...always seem to write crap if i do too much in one day.

Did you just move into 2nd year? I was at Edinburgh uni and the step from 1st to 2nd year in Scotland is by far the biggest in terms of what they expect of you. Way bigger than the difference between 2nd year and your honours years, and way way bigger than the difference between 5/6th year and 1st year at uni. The trick is to be a bit critical of what you read: don't just submit a book report, and be prepared to call people tools if they are in fact tools. Oh, and read stuff not on the reading list too: I recommend Ebscohost and Jstor for getting bibliographic info and journal articles.

Don't worry, you get the hang of it soon enough.

9/10... though that only works out as 9% of my overall grade. The essay is 30%.

Welcome to the club ;-) spent hours on an economics paper - the theory of indifference curves, only to mess it up at the end with a stupid mathematical breakdown. (two diffrent angled lines on a curve at the same point cannot be tangents - still kicking myself)
