Monday afternoon i was in the local record store and a track came on that i liked, it sounded unmistakably like Radiohead but i've got no lyrics for you, only a description.
It's quietly gentle with an ominous backing that seems to comprise of four notes and Mr Yorke floating all over it like a ghost, it never goes anywhere in the volume stakes and it's not No Suprises. It didn't seem as abstract as anything they've done recently either.
Thankoo, now i'm going back to bed.

I love both OK Computer and The Bends, but I would say that I probably prefer The Bends if I had to choose. Songs like Fake Plastic Trees, High And Dry, The Bends, Street Spirit, Just and My Iron Lung, it's just (pun wasn't intentional) fantastic.

That's not to say OK Computer doesn't have amazing songs as well, I just seem to enjoy listening to The Bends all the way through more.

I think it holds up infinately. Im tied between whether I like the Bends or OK Computer better, but they are both great. I listen to them all the time still, and Ive had them for many years. Of course some people hate it because its completely different and was a new style at the time (before people coppied them).

They're different types of album though. "Just" is excellent still, but the rest of it doesn't really hold up anymore. Listening to OK now, will dig out Bends in a minute.

Still prefer the Bends, but maybe it's just me. Come on, Fitter Happier? Mongs. Give me High and Dry, Street Spirit, The Bends and the rest any day.

Although Paranoid Android is superb, probably their best. I heard some unsufferable art boffo say something along the lines of 'it's this generation's Bohemian Rhapsody', which if it wasn't so dreadfully pretentious, I'd probably agree with it.

"OK Computer" is in all honesty one of the best albums of all time, in the history of everything musical and saintly. You'll probably be able to pick it up cheap, then you'll be able to enjoy songs like "Subterranean Homesick Alien", "Electioneering", "Lucky" & "Airbag". It's one of those rare albums that seems to reach out beyond the music, for some mystical reason.
