Good stuff eh? 256kb will be staying the same but their 750kb service is increasing to 1mb whilst the 1.5mb will increase to 2mb and thus the 3mb to 4mb.

Just speculation, world from some ntl insider person, but those caps wouldn't surprise me. Want more, pay for the next tier..
Incidentally, Telewest are also upping their speeds with no usage caps - bit pricier though.
I was quite surprised.

I could easily get through 5GB in a couple of days on my 1mb.

You sure about that?
5GB can be used in about a week.
1mbit - 5gb/month
2mbit - 30gb/month
3mbit - 40gb/month
Not bad for me, I'm on the 1.5mbit at the moment, and while some days I download tons, others I'm hardly at the PC at all - 40gb a month works out far better than the (theoretical) 1gb a day at the moment.
How strictly enforced this will be is of course only speculation, but some NTL insider bod did say it'd be far more rigid than the current 1gb/day..
