Striker David Bentley is in hot water at Norwich after copying a Peter Kay advert in training.

The 20-year-old, on-loan from Arsenal, hoofed the ball away during a passing exercise.

Unfortunately for him, Canaries boss Nigel Worthington failed to see the funny side.

The incident happened when Bentley voiced his reluctance at taking part in a routine where two players stand inside a circle of team-mates and attempt to intercept rapid-fire passes.

When the ball came to the England-under 21 player, he hit it up in the air as hard as he could - although it's not clear whether he shouted "'ave it!"

In the commercial, two of Kay's team-mates demonstrate remarkable skills with a ball, before knocking it to the comic, who immediately boots it out of the ground, on to a garage roof.

He then sweeps away a tray of half-time oranges and grabs a pint of John Smith's bitter.

As a result of his prank, Bentley was dropped for two Norwich matches, but is back in the squad for Saturday's trip to Charlton.

If the Canaries decide they don't want to keep him, with ball skills like that he could always get a job as Jonny Wilkinson's understudy.

Dropping him for two game, just for that, is a bit harsh.

Nigel Worthington is a sad get.

Had he said "'AVE IT!", I bet old Worthington would've laughed! :)

And still, he's some way to go before he's ready to force David Beckham from that side-role!

;D

I wasn't aware David Bentley was a striker, either. :P

Continue this excellent work...
Brilliant! As usual the careful and intuitive production that Freeola puts into everything it sets out to do, I am delighted.
Wonderful...
... and so easy-to-use even for a technophobe like me. I had my website up in a couple of hours. Thank you.
