I reckon there’s quite a range of DVD owners here…

By this I mean the amount of time people have owned DVDs, how many DVDs they buy, how frequently, etc…

Have your DVD purchasing habits changed after your conversion from videocassette to DVD?

Do you buy more movies now, or less? … On the other hand, do you primarily hire movies?

Have you changed your purchasing style… buying fewer, more selective range of DVD’s or do you incorporate a wider viewing range?

What sort of film do you generally purchase?

Are you sold by special edition releases or think there a waste of time?

It seems since the DVD format is still relatively fresh, that peoples purchasing choices are still a lot more fragmented and selective than they may have been of video… or am I totally wrong?

Just wondered

I agree AS, people are now more into films now that DVD's have come out. I think a main popualtrity to the audience is that DVD's are interactive and add a much more unique feel to the film and get you into it.

I think forms of entertainment that are or have turned into forms of interaction do well to its target audience.

In the question to 'Special Edition' DVD's. I don't think they are that important to me. I am there mainly for the films quality but many others may also be there for the interaction part a bit more. If you are a fan of a film that is released on 'Special Edition' then you are sure to buy it to add to your collection.

But, I think that the DVD's producers make a 'Special Edition' to make more people intrested in seeing the film itself by adding new extras.

Does the DVD price differ for a 'Special Edition'?
