Argh. Right, I installed Half-Life 2 and Steam. Half-Life 2 said I needed to update my graphics card drivers. I have nVidia GeForceFX 5200, 64Mb. Go to nVidia website, find latest update for card and OS, download. It recommends to delete my old nVidia drivers, so I do, then restart and everything is small, it can't find my VGA adaptors, notice that browsing websites is jerky. I make screen 1240x768 again, but everything seems a tiny bit smaller. Get update again and run it, restart, assume it's update, but websites are still jerky, and nVidia is no longer in my system devices list.

Have I just screwed my laptop up? Can I use my system restore to go back to a few days ago - will this repair it? Can't get to my windows discs until tomorrow, need to sort this now really.

Cheers in advance.

Get Driver cleaner.

Give that a run to remove everything driver related. Restart your laptop and then install the latest drivers you've downloaded. Give it another restart and it should be fine.

The drivers just aren't installed. Go to www.nvidia.com and install them.
