But now that leaves me with around £100 - 120 at the moment, and a big hole in my case for a motherboard.
Now, thinking about it, a Gigabyte 8IK-1100 - my original motherboard - seems like a pretty decent idea, never had any trouble with it until it got fried.
But are there any other P4 3.2Ghz compatible motherboards I should look at?
Main features I need:
At least 4 RAM slots - have 2 different PC types, so...
AGP 8X - Radeon 9600XT
S-ATA - Well, I want it to last a while, and I'll probably be getting either a pair of Raptors or a big 200-300GB HDD with S-ATA.
Firewire Support
Gigabyte Lan
Things I really don't need:
On board graphics / sound.
Hope that gives a good aproximation of what I want... Thanks.
1. When starting is up is says it has a CMOS problem and cannot find my CD and DVD drives. Couldn't get that sorted so i pressed f1 to continue as it had found my two hard drives.
2. starts loading up windows then resets but cannot find the CPU turn PC of then on again and does the same(problem 1 then problem 2)
anyone got any ideas and i would be most greatful
It's not like it has anything that could be associated with trouble running games like Rome Total War and CounterStrike : Source...
Also, my motherboard now refuses to turn on. And it's not the studs either...
