"We have a report of 30 people fighting in the High Street at *****. Could you go and deal please?"

That is what the control room said to myself and a colleague last night.

We went, we dealt and only two people got nicked having pummelled four others.

I can just picture you now steaming in yelling *Respect mah authoritah!!!!* as you smacked anyone who got close enough with the business end of your baton

We get calls to this place a lot saying there is a large fight when there usually isn't, but this time the control room could see about 30 people fighting on CCTV.

We had four officers to attend in the first instance. One of which was a CBM and not reactive officer another a Sgt and then myself and my colleague, the only two reactive officers. I shouldn't have even been working.

We turned up in a large van and the others brought a 4-by-4 to make it look like there could be more of us then there were. If they'd known there was only four no doubt we would have taken a beating.
