That's the highest I've ever seen it on a weeknight.
Yawn!
Well, here's an idea for you: There's already a text based Discworld RPG available online, here's the link:
http://discworld.imaginary.com:5678/index.html
It's run as a non-profit organisation, it's free for people to sign up. How about you do a deal to host a European Server, in return you get a couple of banners on their site?
It would spread the SR name about a bit, and more people would get to play the game.
MIST could be the home of it, people could post help, arrange to meet up to go on quests etc. You will probably find a lot of people staying up late to play it.
Anyway, it's just an idea.
> Yes - MIST needs a ....... purpose.
Something to make it
> shine.
Any ideas?
Yeah, suggested that a while ago. FOG is an actual topic but MIST started with the letters first and has the fact that it is a night forum but has no theme.
Does the theme relate to the night (but what? without being dodgy) as it is that time or does it follow something else? Again what? How about online gaming? But how many people would stay up really late? The games would have to be really good for it to work. Maybe back to your days of game programming????
The game Asheron's Call is the sort of thing I have in mind. It is a fighting fantasy game that players build up their own characters and fight monsters etc. I'm sure you know the score. That is really addictive and people play it way past midnight. You talk to other real people and that adds to the power of the game. You feel more part of a community. WHich is the way the SR site works. Maybe SR could develop something like that? Create the MYST world - a sci-fi fantasy world. This could tie in with my MYST Card Game I suggested that already is gaining support (see other comments in the MIST forum). Try and create a Harry Potter/DIscworld/Dr Who type world. Too ambitious?
That's all for now. You may wish to look at my other suggestions about promoting the site if not done so already. Let us know what you think.
Started just with one for my dad to remotely access his files, other restricted access ones now. Still don't trust him not to get annoyed with lack of privaledges to c:\winnt\ and run an exploit on one of my open ports, think I'm still running a domain server.
Off to do another quick nmap =/
I'm just sitting here kicking doze telnet server, trying to set up an acocunt for my mate..
Interact
Start chatting
Talk together
???
But, TONY!
(Did that get his attention?)
I think that alongside the other format charts on ukgames.com there should be the SR chart which shows the 5 products which are selling the best throughout the whole SR network.
it needs something original, yes, but it still should fit in with the rest of the SR site -somehow-, and I don't see any of that in flash =/
I am having ideas here that each letter of M.I.S.T could mean something and lead off to something in a flash style menu.
This would make MIST have a new community and it could be run by a few regualars of the MIST forum. Like I suggested for the April Gameaday competion, a monthly community report could be sent out. The community could be in flash and could navigate like that as animations could go well and may even show you how flash could be use din other parts of the site.
But with the letters meaning something. I am thinking about not just disscussion but a whole new community. Picture board? erm messege board? chat etc.
We can think of good stuff.
But what could the M.I.S and T stand for?
