On XBox?
Halo 2 is superb online, there is always hundreds of matches going on, it's easy to use and fantastic fun.
Pro Evo 4 is also very good (though I couldn't get the mic working for some reason), but lags a little.
That's all I have online, but I've heard that the Ghost Recon games are excellent online, and, whilst I hate it, FIFA 2005 is also said to be very good.
There are 150+ online games now for XBox, we're spoilt for choice really.

Not having Live I can't play it online.
However, contrary to what people say, I've found the single-player very enjoyable.
An improvement on the original for sure.
