It doesn't seem that long since the last installment does it?

Well once again they are letting 10 unfortunate soles into a house for a while, and awarding one of them with 70 grand.

Not a bad deal for them, but what about us?

I'll repeat what I heard in the news this morning - there will be 21 hour a day coverage on E4. And yes, lets face it, there will be some people with their tv switched onto that channel constantly. Add to that the coverage on channel 4 itself, and you have a mighty lot of people sitting around not doing much to watch.

They can even send you regular reports on your mobile, just so you don't miss anything.

This is all getting rather out of hand surely?

For those of you that watched the last series (I only saw it once or twice to see what it was like), do you agree that this has gone too far?

Because the people in the house are so desperate for the money, none of them will dare do anything which gets out of hand. They are even giving the short listed entrants psychological evaluations just to make sure they are ok in the head.

Stupid! We want a bunch of nutters in there! I'd be glued to the thing if some interesing stuff was going on. Not just sex, but that would be welcome should needs be.

If anyone thinks I'm a pervert for saying that, you're probably right.

But it's bound to be just like the last series, and it may even attract more viewers.

Not that I'm having a go at the people - that last bunch have been interviewed loads and they all sound like lovely and interesting people. It's just that lovely and interesting people do not always make good television.

But then you have the matter of Davina presenting - thats a big reason for me to watch it at least once, but just because she's mighty fine.

So what do we reckon? One series was enough? Bring it on? They should never have bothered in the first place?

Big Brother at the time one of the best programs around, as it was original and the interaction with the audience who felt like they knew them because of so much coverage led to it being a success.

Alas I feel it was a one series wonder. People have seen it. It's no longer as interesting as it was the first time. After seeing it the first time I can say I most likely won't watch series 2.

Big Brother was rubbish lets face it. The only reason I watched the first series was it was an interesting concept. 10 people in a house, evictions only 1 winner.. and Davina McCall ;-). The concept was interesting as we could see how people coped in this environment. Lets call it an experiment. Series 2 will not be such a success as the experiment as worn thin and we will now want to see a new concept not basically the same thing.

If you look back at some episodes now you would cringe. People carry out tasks every day such as obstacle courses and singing a song. What is the point in all this? It is not enjoyable. If I wanted to see stuff like that I'd go to playgroup. I'd be ashamed to take part in the stuff they have to do! It's horrible!

Celebrity Big Brother was a complete and utter disaster. I cringed that I actually watched one of the episodes. It was the biggest piece of rubbish I've ever watched. Some celebrities desperate for attention put themselves in a house and did those pathetic things such as make songs. They took it too seriously - it was for charity and they cried and whined.. it was quite sad and pathetic.

The new series? What will that be like? It will just be 10 people desperate for stardom making fools of themselves in front of millions. Been there got the T-Shirt. Next please.

My money's on the Muslim.

Boy they play hardcore when it comes to faith.

I'm going to now avoid all talk of Muslims and disparaging their faith.

Certainly not the Christian - his special move is holy water splattered lightly on the forehead.

Oh and the line: "Did you see the exorcist?! That will happen if you don't agree!"

Come on Meka, imagine the fun:

"We have a muslim, christian, seventh day adventist, hindu and a sikh. There's also a buddhist, but he's just sitting outside smiling.
This week they have to all agree on a notion of a singular god-head that exists within us all."

Once the dust settled, it would be interesting to see who still stood.

The celebrity one was great though! And for one reason - Jack Dee.

He did all that break-out stuff and had me in stitches the whole time.

I am even less interesting in watching Big Brother 2 that I would be in watching a 3 day Emmerdale marathon.

Normal people in a house with no contact with the outside world is NOT THAT INTERESTING!

I would have thought that doing a 'celebrity' version would have spelt the end for Big Brother, but alas no, I must be subjected to all of it's fallout once again.

Wild animals is a no-go, as even if the people were bloodily slaughtered in 2 seconds, animal rights campaigners would complain.

Religious stuff would be great though. I'm often engaged with some fanatical christian over his/her faith, simply because they want to convert me from Atheism.

One of them seriously said I could be a non-believer in God if I went a week without receiving some sort of sign from him that he loves me.

After laughing, I went home and I'm still waiting for the sign - this was a year ago. I guess god must be caught up in traffic.

But back to the point - yes that would be entertaining. The nasty Nick episode was hilarious - more occurences like that will have me watching for sure.

I'm not allowed to post any more on topics concerning TV because my head explodes.
But they have given me some nice crayons to play with.

----

Seriously though.
Didnt watch the 1st one but saw the fallout from it, with "Nasty Nick" enjoying the dying moments of his 15 minutes.
I do wonder about over-saturation though.
You can flood your market and everyone may think "Oh" and lose interest.

Why not have, instead of contestants, wild animals and religious fanatics of differing denominations?

I'd like that, hell I'd even buy a license for that.
