Utter, utter, UTTER rubbish!
This movie is an A-Z of how NOT to make a movie. Cliched characters you don't care about, half an hour of meaningless wandering about where the film tries to make you become involved with the poor characters and no emotion shown in situations where some decent acting is needed but clearly lacking.
I expect most people given the amount of money this film looks to have cost could have made something much better: yes it's that bad.
A good opening and a completely stupid ending (that comes out of NOWHERE) shame about the hour and a half inbetween.
The film won the "Asian Film Award" at Tokyo International Film Festival in '99. HOW!!??
I have watched a lot of pretty cheesy and unoriginal asian movies before (I was glued to CNX movies for about 3 months while the channel ran) but this is without a doubt the WORST asian movie I have ever seen.
I can only assume there were no other films running for the award, either that or I REALLY don't want to see the ones that didn't win.
Shockingly awful.

nope it sucked big time! i mean come on the ending was stupid, a rocket launcher vs a fireball and the world is destroyed! WTF??? It was slow and cr@p
You've probably seen the horrendously cut UK version. It's actually a pretty decent film, but the UK version takes all the good stuff out.

I laughed when the Yakuza boss went "Now don't shoot".
im sure i saw 2 and 3 somewhere but after the first i thought it was best to leave them....worst ending ever! simply did not fit with the film, failed to make me care about any of the characters...infact i laughed when his wife and kid got blown up!Now thats not right.
