I've found a bargain in a local shop for a Philips DVD/surround sound home cinema kit thing.

The only thing is, the only digital input is co-axial. As far as I'm aware, the Xbox only outputs optical. Is there anyway of converting between the two?

Cheers.

yep, you can get a converter for around £20 that will take an optical signal in and output it to a Coaxial cable. I use one for my DVD player and they work great.

This is the one i use:

Cheers for the info! I assume that it is still a 5.1 signal, so I can still play my games in Surround Sound?

Yep, it still comes out in 5.1

Those converters work a treat, just be sure you buy a digital coaxial lead as they are different from standard coaxial leads.
