i have brought a router/modem and have given up on the direct link from ps2 to modem/router to phone line approach, so i have decided to take it through the pc.
but, when i try and install it, the computer only thinks it is a network device and not a modem, how do i install the modem part of it? i am able to configure it though in the web browser, but when it comes to connecting to the net, and selecting the modem, it is not in the list. i have tried to install it in different waysm, like using the cd it came with, xp plug and play but these only install the networking part. anyone know how to get the modem bit to come up?

If it plugs into the network port on your computer then that's all you need. Your computer treats the router as a standard networking device - when it needs a page from the www, for instance, it asks your router, which handles all the dial-up malarkey without your computer having to know that it's going on at all.

At least that's how it should work.
