According to several sources, Paul Heyman has been a big advocate of trading Kurt Angle for Chris Benoit. Heyman reportedly feels that separating Kurt Angle from The Undertaker would break up the very political presence felt backstage at SmackDown! from the two superstars.
It was said that Angle likely would have feuded with Shawn Michaels upon being moved to RAW. By all indications, WWE has put the idea on hold for now. Because it has gone back and forth and the trade could still happen, we will keep you posted. Keep in mind this is just a rumor right now, but is has definitely been talked about backstage.
Hmm, looks to me like another case of Smackdown getting a lesser star in return for a big name. No offence to Benoit, of course, who is one of my personal favourites, but his name doesn't have the same draw value as Kurt.
There is a related rumour that Benoit and Eddie Guerrero could re-form the Radicalz if this were to happen, with rumoured other member being Chavo Guerrero and Chris Jericho, although obviously Jericho would also have to move to Smackdown...

Indeed, plus with Jericho they can push him to main event status as well as getting some more charisma on Smackdown
Jericho and Benoit to Samckdown, Angle to Raw. They wouldn't have to do all this if they were a bit smarter about things though...
