As I said, you're probably best off upgrading your motherboard and processor together, and going for a mid-high range Duron for the same price as a celeron.
It seems unlikely, as your current motherboard is probably running at 100mhz with a 3.3x multiplier. This would require an 8x multiplaier for a 100mhz celeron, and I'm not aware of any motherboard around the time of the Celeron 333 that are capable of doing that.
If you can find the manufacturer and model of your motherboard, I can tell you for sure, but otherwise you're probably better off buying a new mobo + cpu set, I'd recommend an AMD Duron over a Celeron, both on price and performance.
You should be able to pick up an 800mhz version for around £50.
