Ive just had broadband installed and the modem ive been given can be connected via USB or an ethernet port. Ive got it connected with USB and it all works fine. I was just wondering if it would make a difference if I got an ethernet port installed. Would it be any faster or not? Also would using USB 2.0 make any difference?

Hey thats what i did! Unfortanatly it doesnt do any effect.
2.0 is faster than 1.0, and ethernet is the fastest connection behind Firewire.
USB will be fine. Yes USB 2.0 is faster, and Ethernet is faster still, but why do you need a fast speed? If your on broadband then your only going to be connected at something like 1Mb. USB is going to be fine until we actually get Internet connections that are faster than USB 1.1.
Pssh, as Zeldman says (though completely out of context) make it forward compatible.
For me ethernet as once its configured you generally won't have many problems with it. (Although generally as a rule you get what you pay for)
