There was a time when the American elections didn't really affect the UK - and indeed the rest of the world - in such a direct manner.
But it's odd how this is now the case.
And the terrible shame is, the resulting effect of the elections in the USA could be little to no good, or drastically terrible, with our Government tagging along in almost whatever war-orientated decision is made (particularly concerning Iraq, and that buzzphrase "War on Terror").
So indeed, I find it 'scary' (I'm still trying to conjur up a suitable word) that a nation a thousand miles away with its choice of leader could significantly affect us.
