I never got Tribes 2 but enjoyed the short gaming spell I had on it.
Just need to know if it's worth the money, and also so I don't over-play CS:S (if that's possible!)
Unless you can recommend something better...

Yep, it's ultimately quite shallow, but good fun for a little while.
Things seem to happen so fast now; if someone grabs and has the right ski route sorted then there's no amount of teamwork that's going to stop them. Back in T2, with the bigger maps and such then they'd really need some help from their own team to stand a chance of getting home. So most of the time it's just the two flag carriers sitting around their base waiting for the other one to die.
They've just taken out the complicated bits to make it more appealing.
Think UT2k4 with jetpacks and you're pretty much there.

I'm going to play that now, cheers for the reminding
even got the best game that no one played award from ign (i think).
there is a single player demo of the game out now
and there is a place selling it brand new for 17.99 on the net. (i'm not allowed to explicitly say which company it is am i?)
Might see if gamestation have a 2nd hand one in. Thanks
I loved Tribes 2, but I think T:V is rubbish.
It's a lot less complex and easier to pick up and play, but it's got nothing on T2.
I played a few of the betas and the MP demo but I never thought it was worth getting.
But since I used to play a lot of T2 then I'll probably have different expectations to you.
If you're looking for huge maps, big numbers of players and some kind of brainwork/co-ordination between your team then don't bother. If you just want to play smaller deathmatchy games then go for it.
