it is a very mature script but misses many useful features, the next major version should be top notch though.

I reckon phpBB is better. Simply for it's wider support base.

.htaccess is an apache system file, if incorrectly written can cause loads of problems for both you and us.
PHPBB is a very up to date BBS Board so I shouldn't think it would cause any major problems but we do advise if you do not know what you are doing please be very careful.

umm, are you sure about that?
Somthing tells me .htaccess is somthing to do with security and access to files and thing.

Shouldn't affect it.

.htaccess only affects files such as "404 Page Error" "500 Internal Error" etc.

So it's basically only changes the error pages.

Should be fine.

Just one more bit of help please.

The www.phpbb.com forum script when unzipped contains a file called .htaccess

While I was messing around with the installation yesterday and removing it, I had trouble removing a directory, I asked freeola for help to remove it and the did but told me freeola does not allow or support .htaccess and im not to up load it again. Does this mean i cant use the phpbb script.

Thanks
