Im considering installing the forum script from phpbb.com, does any one now if it will work with mysql provided by freeola.?
Other questions I need help with for installation
Data Base, mysql 3.x or mysql 4.x
My bata base name (do I make one up or does freeola give one)
Data base user name (is this my sr number)
If any one has installed one, I would like your www to veiw it in action.

it is a very mature script but misses many useful features, the next major version should be top notch though.

Any way I have installed phpbb without .htaccess and so far alls workin ok.

PHPBB is a very up to date BBS Board so I shouldn't think it would cause any major problems but we do advise if you do not know what you are doing please be very careful.
Somthing tells me .htaccess is somthing to do with security and access to files and thing.
.htaccess only affects files such as "404 Page Error" "500 Internal Error" etc.
So it's basically only changes the error pages.
Should be fine.
The www.phpbb.com forum script when unzipped contains a file called .htaccess
While I was messing around with the installation yesterday and removing it, I had trouble removing a directory, I asked freeola for help to remove it and the did but told me freeola does not allow or support .htaccess and im not to up load it again. Does this mean i cant use the phpbb script.
