I've got an interesting debate to put rise to today. Is it a good or a bad thing to release films early with few or no extras (bare bones versions) and then bring out special editions a few months later?

People are going to want the films as early as possible, but releasing two versions just doesn't seem fair.

I believe dogma had this treatment and the director actually advised people to wait for the special edition version.

But then no doubt there would be upset caused if we had to wait so long to get the most important bit - the film itself.

Some might go as far to say it's a con to make people buy the film twice. I have been a victim of this and did feel cheated.

Perhaps this is just the poor man complaining about the leg room in economy class. If you want the film quick, and the extras, then buy both. And if you want more leg room, then pay for it.

Don't worry though, I'm going to carry on complaining. I just wondered what everyone else thought.

Just like to say, as thats a hint, sorry about doubting the very solid nature of kippers writing.

Its all totally original, and plagerism would never even cross his mind.

Mine either, coz my views aren't full of mainstream holly-sh*te advertising influence.

Not that any reputable magazines would bow down to the power and influence of the major hollywood studios. Oh no, GOD FORBID!

Oi! I want clean on my patch!
