I knew I was different
I just didn't know how
I'll tell you why I'm different
I shall tell you right now

I wouldnt grow for months
I was always the smallest
Then strangely over night
I'd be taller than the tallest

I would already know
What others needed to learn
I never had friends
I wasn't concerned

Then I got older
I didn't change
Which only made me
Confused and feel strange

When I left home
I was full of joy
I got a job
But 'twas just a toy

That work all day
Was fun for me
I used my knowledge
Very helpfully

Until one day
For no reason at all
They had to "lose me"
I was despendsible

I went off track
I stayed in all day
Never did I care
That I was rotting away

One week after
I tried to move
Then fell over
What does that prove?

but when I got up
I had cuts near my veins
The only thing was
No blood did drain

Thats when I realised
I pulled back the skin
Underneath it was
Mechanical things

I wasn't real
I am not pure
Gadgets powered
For someone obscure

Now I hide
Away from the truth
Robots aren't around yet
I'm the only proof

Sib, that is a great way of looking at it. Which is why I never actually said what I was trying to make it into, because it's upto the reader to choose what it can be, whether it be evil or good.

I read it as a well-loved toy being discarded over time and coming to terms with being damaged and neglected ...

I was thinking of it being more along the lines of a retorhical (spell?) question, not a challenge, unless you think it should be, in which case I don't know what the answer is....

It's just a story about someone growing up normally, yet noticing that they are somewhat different to others, then, later in life, find out that underneath the human appearence there is a machine, and because of their situation they feel that they should not be seen by anyone or anything as they may be the only one who is artifically created...
