Juventus are reported to be lining up a sensational move for England captain Michael Owen.

Reports claim the Italian giants want to take Owen on loan for the rest of the season when the transfer window reopens in January.

Juve are on the look-out for a striker after it was confirmed this week that French international David Trezeguet would be out for at least four months following surgery on a shoulder injury.

The Turin giants have been linked with a host of names including Brescia starlet Andrea Caracciolo, Adrian Mutu and Simone Inzaghi, but have attempted to play down speculation.

However, the England international has now emerged as a target and Juve are hoping to take advantage of his lack of action in the Spanish capital.

Owen has been only a bit-part player at the Santiago Bernabeu since his summer move and has failed to force his way past Ronaldo and Raul in to the Real first team.

Although he has repeatedly stated his happiness at having moved to Spain, as well as asking for more time to settle, the situation might change if he is still out in the cold come January.

Fabio Capello is reported to be a big fan of the former Liverpool star and would like him to bolster his attacking options.

However, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Alessandro Del Piero, Marcelo Zalayeta - and Trezeguet when he regains fitness - all on the books at Stadio delle Alpi, competition is no less fierce in Turin.

Whether Owen will want to uproot again remains doubtful, and he would also be unavailable to play in the UEFA Champions League for Juve if he were to appear in that competition for Real before January.

Owen needs a regular place in the first eleven if he wants to keep his starting place in the England line-up (I think Sven is mad holding faith in him at the moment).

Arsenal are interested but I can't see Owen as a first team regular. Anyone remember Scott Parker? He'd be a consideration at least for Sven if he was still playing in the starting eleven at Chelsea.

Oh, I was sure he wanted to finish his career in "Italy or Spain"

Yeah, I suppose they feel the cold more in Italy than Spain, or something?

I guess we'll always have a use for him back over here in the winter, then! ;D

He'd make an excellent bench warmer though.

They could go for Owen, I suppose...

Or, like some reports have previously suggested, they could save a few bob and go for Chelsea's walk-away Romanian, Adrian Mutu - who, as you should remember, gained a great deal fo Serie A experience from his time with Parma.

He's proven he can play abroad. What about Michael Owen?

What? Signed Larsson?
Why should we have?
It's unlikely we could've, since he'd been strongly linked with Spanish clubs since he became available.
And we didn't, no. So?

You clearly know nothing.
