Please bear in mind that of course I'm not thinking of doing this, heaven forbid. Every time someone commits software piracy an angel cries, and I don't want that. So, hypothetically speaking, of course, do you have to activate xp? Is there any way of not doing it? I just ask because...well...i like the...err...yeah. No honestly I was just wandering what the point of activating it is.

I think you can use it on a couple of machines, providing they're all in the same household.

I may be wrong though.

ok that's a good enough reason to activate it. Means I can only install it on one computer though. That sucks. Thanks anyway.

If you don't, you're unable to use windows after 30 days of installation.
