My camera was stolen last year, I've still got all the packaging and stuff for it however.

Anyway, I've got a new one, but I've just had the most worrying thought as to who it may have been...

Will the packaging contain any of the camera details, as in the serial number that is on the bottom of the camera?

She's stupid, she wouldn't know.

Plus nobody was in.

Anyway, the w**ker who stole it is leaving uni, plus I'm letting him keep the camera in return for £300 cash.

All in all, a fun day!

Heh, of course the most obvious route was to just ask your mum straight off. Ah well.

Thanks for that, I've just found (got my Mum to find) the serial number.

I'll post later tonight on the outcome of 'the mission!'

Sony are quite nice in that they always place the serial numbers outside the box for retailers to use. So in answer to your question, yeap, the seieal will be on their.

Far more worrying than that.

I'll explain it later, as now I've gotta read.

Yep the serial number is on the box. I have a P72 camera and can see on the box a label that has a few barcodes, 2 small ones and a bigger one. Its the middle barcode that has the serial number, and on mine it is s01-serial number-E, and on the bottom of the camera the serial number is clearly visible on the label, without the s01 and E.

I'd have to check when I get home, but I think the serial number is on the box (should also be found on the bottom of the camera).

If you haven't had confirmation by 15:00, I'll double check when I get back home.
