Hi all, ive got some forums and one of my members wants to use a .avi file as his avatar [URL]HTTP://www.llforums.co.uk/forum/neil/hover.avi[/URL]

Ive put this correct URL into the place where it asks for the url of an external image but it just displays the normal error with a frame around and a red cross in the corner, does anyone know how to make it work, I am admin so I can change any of the necisery settings in the admin panel, the board is smf (from the designers of yabbse)
Thanks

Sorry, just had another read your post at I'm guessing that the image you try to put in will automatically be placed with the standard src="" attribute, so what I've written below won't be af any help to you.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

I'm not sure if it still works, but in Internet Explorer you can get videos to embed via the tag, using the dynsrc="video.avi" attribute I think.

I remember it now, it was set out like this:

.avi is a video file.

I'll let you guess why you can't get a video file to work within an image tag...

Just a guess, but the .avi extension isnt compatible with the img tag. An animated gif might work.
