You walk through the sliding doors of a gaming powerhouse, a building that devotes itself to pleasure and the latest in gaming. Gone are the controllers we once used back at home and in place are thousands of pounds worth of gaming equipment, shaping in the form of steering wheels the size of a trucks and Machine guns that you could of mistaked for an anti aircraft weapon.
Have you guessed the place yet?
If you have not here's the answer, it’s an Arcade.
But how does this tie in with the title of this topic you may ask? Well, its very simple really and I will get straight to the point so you can rush off to carry on with your favourite games.
Gaming through the ages has evolved in many forms. The graphics that we see on the screen, which lights up our eyes with delight has been improved dramatically and the way in which we control our games, by the use of hand controllers, has also remarkably changed. Back in the dawn of the gaming era saw controllers as rectangular objects with only around two buttons. But now, we see controllers have a more developed feel, which bend and curve to suit our needs and enough buttons to help us bring the gameplay to its greatest.
So, here’s the point. Can the technology really change now when it already may be changed to its best?
The answer to that is, yes, it can be changed. But then again in that answer, no, it may not be able to change much more to bring the best out of gameplay.
One question you may like to ask yourself is: Do the more advanced controls that you use in the Arcades really improve the gaming experience?
Ok, it all may feel a bit more realistic as that is the way games are going these days, but does it really bring out the best in gameplay? Many classic games that are known today did not use variations of controllers and were known simply for their great gameplay. This all may change in the future, as developers try to take the game to its best and use technology which really can hit a hard blow to the game and the gaming world.
I can’t imagine a Rally car situated in my living room in a few years time but who would of thought we would have been where we are now a few decades back?
Do you think that it will ruin gameplay by not using the standerd contoller? Or will the geniuses be able to make it work?
I think the basic hand controller will most probably stay for the best but that could change.
