Got this yesterday after reading the Half Life 2 guide on IGN, despite gutting XP myself with services.msc and turning off all additional crap that came with XP I still found some pretty useful stuff within TuneXP, especially the force defrag utility which is handy for files that are continually fragmented.
In terms of game performance I didn't notice any differences with the system I have as it is mainly a util for low-mid range PC's wanting to smooth out games. It did however make the shutdown process a lot quicker and no doubt it has improved general performance to sum degree with the other stuff.
So a couple of useful utilities for those wanting to clean up and improve general performance...
TuneXP
RegCleaner
The latter was on the recommendation of Biggles but it helped me clear a fair few files just lying around in the registry that shouldn't have been there. TuneXP requires the .net framework to run but I would imagine most on here will have it through the general Windows Update.
