[I know that film reviews are not supposed to be posted here, but since this movie is not in SR's selection, yet, I'll have to review it here]
The Film : Memento

The Genre: Thriller

The cast: Guy Pearce (L.A Confidential), Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix), Joe Pantoliano (The Matrix) and directed by Christopher Nolan.

The Plot: Basically a guy called Lenoard Shelby (Guy Pearce) is a guy trying to avenge his wife's death. The problem is, after "the incident", he is unable to convert short-term memory into long-term memory due to a contusion to the left side of his brain. Therefore he forgets the simplest of things that we take for granted (where we currently live, what our car is like (if we have one), etc). To aid him with his "disability" he takes polaroids, scribbles down notes and even tattoos himself!

I think that the 3 main actors (Pearce, Pantoliano and Moss) all play their roles superbly. Pearce has the role of the forgetful character down to a T, as he portraits obsession, frustration, resourcefulness and resilience as the memory drained Lenoard.

Pantoliano (who plays a guy called Teddy) is somewhat of an enigma as you can't really tell if he is trying to save Lenoard or if he has something to hide from Lenoard as he is always telling Lenoard to leave town.

Moss (she plays Natelie) who is a are barmaid is just as suspicious as you can never tell if she wants to help Lenoard.

The film has a twist though, it starts at the end! This is perhaps a little strange to get hold of to begin with but I think that it adds a lot of style to the film in that you are always wondering why he doing something or how he has managed to get that information. By the end, of the movie, every little thing just fits neatly together. I would recommend this to anyone however be warned this is not the type of film to lose attention of for even 5 mins as you will become lost and not enjoy it as much.

**Waiting in anticipation for the film to be released on dvd at SR**
