But picked up one Saturday that hasn't left the CD player since, and is without doubt my fav of 2004 by a country mile.
"Storms Are Brewing" - Blade.
UK hiphop. He's been around for years, didn't really pay attention until his album "The Unknown" with Mark B. Since then have gotten into Rodney P, Skinnyman, Lewis Parker & that whole London Posse stuff.
And Storms are Brewing is the finest hiphop I've heard in a looong time, certainly the best thing this year.
Furious rhyming skills and absolute storming beats. No comparision to anything else.
Worth buying just to hear Grazzhoppa's scratching on "Reflection" and the insane string-quartet rhythm on "Pop Idol"
If you're into hiphop of any description, seek out "Storms Are Brewing", Blade.
You won't regret it.
Never really been in the whole British Hip Hop scene, find the accents grate after a while. I'll give this a go though because I've heard a lot of good things about Mark B and Blade.
Just hope there's some tracks on Winmx to download.
Otherwise there has been nothing interesting.
Probably because I'm too poor to afford albums.

Ditto
Shall check this out I think, I remember seeing Blade on Never Mind the Buzzcocks, putting a phat human beat box behind all the songs he had to re-enact (even where there were none before).
The Skinnyman album is cool, check out Falling Down by Jehst, it's also rather brilliant.
As for my current Album of 2004, it'd have to be Kanye West - The College Dropout.
If you even slightly like that song, go get "Storms Are Brewing"
Even my missus loves it and copied it.
Good stuff.
