In which case, keep the optical cable somewhere safe and let the scart carry the sound.
The advanced scart cable has one end that connects to the Xbox and the other to the TV's scart socket.
As for the optical cable - one end plugs into the socket on the box on the scart cable, and the other plugs into an optical 'audio in' socket on whatever speaker system you use.
If you're using a standard TV only, chances are you wont find anywhere to plug it in.
