Looking for some war games to buy any ideas on some good ones.

Anyway, if you like strategy games I suggest Rome: Total War. Handcrafted by one of our very own regulars. If you want something with newer stuff, like tanks and machine guns, get a Command & Conquer. Which is irrelevant, they all rock muchly. Well, apart from Command & Conquer Renegade, but it was a spin off FPS and isn't strategy.
