“Wonderful, profound and imaginative. Whatever you do, don’t forget to see this.” – Says New Woman. Well, they tend to know what I like, so I thought I’d give it a crack.
Ok, I’m not sure if there is some “deep” message in this film. I’m not sure if the director is trying to make some bold statement or something. I just found it an entertaining hour and a half in front of the TV.
Carey is really quite good in a whispering, confused expression filled way. I’m a fan of Carey and his gurning comedy, but it was nice to see him play a more controlled part. There are a few moments where he could have over-acted, but he just about controls himself.
Winslet is good in a shouty angry way. I’ve not really seen much of her, (well, I’ve seen a fair bit in Titanic), but I enjoyed her performance in this.
Kirsten Dunst once again made me think when she appears. Every time I see her I think to myself, “Hmm, is she hot or not?”
I thought it was very nicely directed. Some clever parts, some slightly freaky parts, but skilful all the way through.
It’s not the sort of thing I would see myself watching time and time again, but it was very enjoyable.
A good solid 8/10

Now money, that's what I need....that and time to watch the things I'd buy with the money...
...perhaps not having money is a good thing after all...
Probably the best film I've seen this year.
Except that was hardly reserved at all. It just wasn't Ventura-esque sillyness/humour.

Carey doesn't annoy me too much... it is just great that he can play two totally different styles.
It was even more reserved than his Truman show effort.
Inventive,thought-provoking and a non-annoying Carey performance.
Now I'm looking at my money, I know that it'll go soon... but wondering if I should spend it while it is mine.
All mine, bwhahahahahaha.
P.S. it was 'That Peter Kay Thing'

There were several clever messages especially in the last memory such as enjoy life while you can.
It is a great movie, I'm low on funds so I'm debating whether I should get it.
I won't get the Darko directors cut yet... though I plan on getting Goonies at some point.
