The new Resident Evil game. Any good?

I love Resident Evil. But has going onto PS2 caused a step-back?

Dude, Resident Evil has been on PS2 for 4 years. Even the original Dreamcast Code Veronica (the best ever Resident Evil game) was released nearly 6 years ago.

SO THEN:

It's bad news for these forums if the best topic in General Chat not made by me or about me or featuring me is one where some monged out copper asks for a review of a 'new' game released 5 bloody years ago. You guys never should have banned The Zeppo, or you'd never be in this mess in the first place. Don't you ever wonder why Emperor Bob and Blank and that guy with the v in his name, and all the other decent posters left this place?

He's talking about Outbreak (i think :-D)

I wouldn't pay for it put it that way, as the selling point of the game was meant to be the online storymode and being able to play with other people and go through the story together, which is not in the European version it makes it a pretty average game and they STILL have the god awful control system. (although hitting a zombie with a steel pole until it breaks is pretty fun)

Note to Capcom - if a hoard of flesh hungry zombies are after you most people do not casually turn around on the spot and then leg it. You've had about 8 years to sort it out for god sakes.

The 'poor' control system (as in Silent Hill) was always intentional.

It's far more terrifying being frozen on the spot whilst slowly rotating as a zombie walks towards you, then being about to run away and aim. They could have easily taken the PSOne Final Fantasy control system and worked wonders for the gameplay...but it would have been more like an action game than a survival horror game.

Incidentally, LaLakersRuler, any comments on the state of these forums?
