hey, anyone know about xbox live, i need for someone to answer some of my questions about it. i need to know how you set up the xbox live by doing the direct connection? some gay guy a circuit city told me that i needed a router, but i think i need is just a high speed dsl/cable modem. because the only thing i have to ther internet is my computer and that has like a phone line thing, its like a dsl modem card but all it has are the phone cord ports, no where to put ethernet on my computer. holla back , thanks [email protected]

I'm having trouble understanding what you mean.
To paraphrase though, ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) works by having your PC connected up to DSL or cable etc. Now WITH the PC still all connected up you need to run a crossover ethernet cable from the Xbox to an ethernet port on the back of your PC.
If your modem takes up the only ethernet port on the back of your PC, then just turn the modem off and plug it into the Xbox directly. If you have a USB modem then you need to use ICS and may need to fit a network card if you don't already have one.
