Don't get me wrong, Showbiz was a fantastic album. Now get me wrong: everything else they've ever done is crappy and samey...except Hypermusic. They've become one of those bands where you check the boxes and you know it's one of their songs.

Only 1 song on absolution has a tremelo picked solo, 0 have synth breaks and the only ones with quiet picky bits are like that the whole way through. None of the choruses are particularly high and what does it matter if the bass is fuzzed? That's like me criticising every rock guitarist ever for always having distorted riffs/solos.
I kind of agree. I liked Absolution for about a week now I can't stand it, all of their songs just the same but different.

Have you actually listened to all their albums, or just listened to Showbiz, caught the new singles and thought 'oh, sounds a bit similar, that does'.
I mean, you could say the same thing about any band, more so. Except Madonna, I s'pose.
