Hey

I've just found this really funny new site:

http://www.dubbs-attacks.co.uk

It's got some really good stuff on. I think we need things like this on the web, what do you think?

Cheers.

"I criticised the punctuation because it doesn't complement the style the owner of the site is aiming for.

It detracts from the type of humour he's aiming for."

constructive critism is good - he needs it to help him improve - you could have put that in your first post but you were just plain insulting.

I brought up the articles - as anything against blazing squad is funny in its own way - its been done before yes... but still i find it amusing as i have a hatred for them worse than i do against Mariah Carey.

So what if a lot of people say they hate blazing squad, maybe Dubbs would like to express his anger too - it's not as if one person can do it and thats it. It's his website and it is permitted that he can write anything on it.

When i said you were wrong i didnt mean about how you were criticising the website - i meant when you accidently accused me of saying that ! were for making things sound cheery. which you did.

i agree that a witty site has to have a style in which suits the rant - so far in my opinion he's doing good, his writing style will mature throughout the time in which the website progresses.

One article has been done before - okay shoot him.

"The site is poor for more reasons that just the exclamation mark.
It just happened to be the only thing I chose to comment upon in my first post.

It's not the exclamation mark that's important, anyway. It's the fact that the tone of the articles fails to demonstrate any of the anger he seems desperate to get across. He can't pull off the writing style that a rant site demands."

There is not only one style of 'rant' ranting can be put across in many a way to show anger/fustration, maybe in your eyes it was over done. for a first post it was full of enthusiam and excitment. Which puts across that he actually wants to do this site and make it known that he wants to do it. if someone is dull anddoesnt use punctuation then i will be bored reading it. there needs to be some level of strive within an article to attract me into reading it.

"I hate blazin squad. they suck."

...*yawn*...

Right.

You gave constructive criticism - fair enough - you didnt do it well in your first post - you just said it was crap. next time elaborate in order to help.

i encouraged him as i see potential. its already been updated twice now - better than maddox's who doesnt update for a good few weeks - more usually.

The last thing i have to say in this matter is i respect your argument, even though it wasnt done in a productive manner. fair play mine wasnt either - but i wasnt taking it seriously... its my first few posts - its fun! next time lighten up instead of being so serious.

Its funny because I agree with Gaybys.

It is NOT funny, you are NOT clever and you are NOT wanted.

Oh, and "F**kwitt" should (hopefully) get you warned and if repeated (more hopefully) banned.

I criticised the punctuation because it doesn't complement the style the owner of the site is aiming for.

It detracts from the type of humour he's aiming for.

> Then you went on to say about how the articles about him hating

You're still missing the point. I criticised his writing style because it didn't suit the type of articles he was aiming for, then you brought up how he was writing about chavs and Blazin' Squad and how that was funny.

I wouldn't have made any comments about the actual content of the articles if you hadn't brought it up for no apparent reason after I explained why his use of exclamation marks was poor.

It was you who brought up the subject matter of the articles, not me.
I couldn't care less what he writes about because I find his writing style completely uninteresting.

> The only reason i take your points and hit them back at you is
> because you are wrong.

Explain how I'm wrong.
1) I've justified why his writing style is inappropriate for the site.
2) You agreed with my point on the subjects of the articles not affecting how humorous the site is (which was in response to your comment when you brought up chavs and Blazin' Squad).

> You only think his articles are predictable because you think they
> are like maddox's... they are similar but not the same. again -

> that.

No. I think they are predictable because he has written about dull, obvious things. I don't need someone to tell me Blazin' Squad are crap, because it's quite obvious that they are if you ever hear/see them.

A very important part of rant websites is that the subject matter has to be clever and interesting, as well as the author's writing style.

For example, I particularly enjoyed an article called "A Letter to Skeletor" that I read a while back. It was well written and featured a subject that wasn't stale or predictable. However with the Blazin' Squad article it was blindingly obvious from the beginning where it was headed - they're stupid, they can't write songs, the UK music industry is a joke.. blah blah blah blah. We've all heard that sort of stuff a million times before. It's boring.

> this is how it goes... you make a stupid invalid point - i hit you up
> on it - you tell me im pointless - i say you are wrong. because you
> are. end.

Again, where did I make an invalid point?

1) I commented on the writing style and justified my reasons for criticising it.

2) I commented on the subjects of the articles after you brought them up.

I haven't grabbed any points out of thin air. I haven't just said something out of nowhere.

The site is poor for more reasons that just the exclamation mark.
It just happened to be the only thing I chose to comment upon in my first post.

It's not the exclamation mark that's important, anyway. It's the fact that the tone of the articles fails to demonstrate any of the anger he seems desperate to get across. He can't pull off the writing style that a rant site demands.

You: This site is crap too cheery
Me: no it emphasises anger
You: No it makes it cheery
Me: yes because thats what exlamation marks do - makes things cheery *rolls eyes...* SARCASM
You: moron moron moron
Me: shut up.

basically you make comments about punctuation when you are really worried about this taking up on your time for looking at cheap porn to get off to.

i like this site. it has good witty comments to blazin squad - who between them passed like 9 GCSE's or something like that - dont quote me... im not a fan i dont read up on it. basically they are a bunch of idiots who somehow got a record contract.. because 12 year olds will go out and buy it as it sounds cool 'yeh man, dey r so fyne'

Then you went on to say about how the articles about him hating people arent funny just because he hates things.

yes - very true.obviously.

but he has a brain.. therefore they are funny.

You: aww why did u do that man, u just made a stoopid point over nuffin.

The only reason i take your points and hit them back at you is because you are wrong.

You only think his articles are predictable because you think they are like maddox's... they are similar but not the same. again - maddox is not the only sarcastic witty person out there - live with that.

this is how it goes... you make a stupid invalid point - i hit you up on it - you tell me im pointless - i say you are wrong. because you are. end.

dont try to out clever me by telling me i make pointless comments. It seems you've been a member for quite a while.. and posted quite a few messages, get out more instead of arguing over an exlamation mark. i found this fun and entertaining - dont take things to seriously next time.

I'm off to my girlfriends as she has finished work. just so you dont think i havent got any come backs if you message again.

I'd also like to point out that the name of this topic is misleading.

No I didn't.
I called you a moron for trying to say that I thought exclamation marks were exclusively for making things cheery.

Exclamation marks have a number of uses.
All I did was explain why it had the effect it did on that crap website.

It went like this, bozo:

Me: That site sucks. It's all cheery.
You: No. The exclamation marks emphasise the anger.
Me: Incorrect.
You: Oh yeah lol exclamation marks are for making things cheery.
Me: Contradiction?
You: No, I was pointing out that you're wrong about exclamation marks in a sarcastic way.
Me. Oh. Well of course that isn't all they're for...blah de blah

"well, we all hate chavs - they are a bunch of 'fuckwitts' especially blazin squad - now if you dont think that then you have something seriously wrong with you. because they are the biggest bunch of idiots that ever crawled the planet - bar One True Voice.

If you actually read the website you should have picked up on this."

Here's where you made unnecessary reference to the content, doofus. That didn't have anything to do with anything, which is why I pointed it out.

Please don't take my points and aim them back at me in a roundabout way.

> The fact that he has a brain makes his articles funny

If only they were actually funny.
They're dull, boring and predictable.

> Your posts seem to be a stream of words that have no point to them..

You're the one going round in circles.
I make reference to your irrelevant comment on the content, then you criticise me for making an irrelevant comment?

What's with that, eh?

The fact he hates things doesnt automatically make it funny OBVIOUSLY! Thats a stupid sentence with no point!

people with an actual sense of humour will find it funny. its a sarcastic humour which maybe people without a brain cell will not understand.

Of course the fact that he hates chavs doesnt have a bearing on the quality of his articles.. thats a pointless fact AGAIN.

PLEASE try to make some kind of point next time. or even try to make sense.

I'm getting angry reading your posts!

The fact that he has a brain makes his articles funny - thats a sentence that makes sense and has a point.. think about it.

Your posts seem to be a stream of words that have no point to them.. you seem to just go around in a circle hoping that it will make sense when it doesnt.

Erm, I know?
You tried to argue with me saying that I was wrong...

It's about as witty as a kick in the balls.

> it makes comments about things -
> as those things annoy Dubbs off. which makes him angry - obviously.

He doesn't make witty comments. He makes dull, predictable 'wisecracks' about how angry!!!! he is.

> If you actually read the website you should have picked up on this.

Just because he writes about something everyone hates, it doesn't mean he's actually funny, moron. The fact he hates chavs has no bearing on the quality of his articles. If you had a brain you should have picked up on this.
